We Give Back

At Carl P. Sherr & Co, LLC., our mission of community engagement is at the heart of our core beliefs. We invest in the success of our clients—and in the success of our community. Since our founding over 50 years ago, we have been deeply committed to the community by fostering long lasting relationships that make a difference in everyday lives. Our team members take an active role in organizations they are passionate about. Together we can make a difference.

Food & Nutrition:

Community Servings: A not-for-profit food and nutrition program providing services throughout Massachusetts and in Rhode Island to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses. They provide clients, their dependent family members and caregivers appealing, nutritious meals, and send the message to those in greatest need that someone cares. Goals are to help clients maintain their health and dignity and preserve the integrity of their families through culturally appropriate, home-delivered meals, nutrition education, and other community programs.

Education and Resources for Growth

Worcester State Foundation: The mission of the Worcester State Foundation is to promote the growth and progress of Worcester State University beyond what is possible with state funding. Excellent colleges and universities flourish when they have the resources to attract motivated students and talented faculty, equip and maintain state-of-the-art facilities, and adapt programs to the changing needs of students and the community. The Worcester State Foundation works to ensure that Worcester State University has the resources it needs to thrive and maintain its reputation for academic excellence—now and into the future. The foundation connects charitable objectives with the needs and mission of the university.

Sports and Youth Development:

Jesse Burkett Little League: We are proud to an original sponsor of the league, going back over 50 years. The league empowers boys and girls to learn the sport of baseball and team appreciation. Named after Hall of Fame player Jesse Burkett (1886-1953), who played left field in Major League Baseball from 1890-1905. Before joining the Major League, he pitched in the minor league for the Worcester Club of the New England League.

Supporting our Military Families:

Massachusetts Military Financial Readiness Program: Provides free ongoing financial guidance and resources to members of our military and their families. The Financial Planning Association of Massachusetts offers free financial coaching and planning to all those who are serving us in this extraordinary way.

Homes on the Homefront: Military families and veterans can apply for a home through the Homes on the Homefront program. The homes that are donated are bank owned homes. Donors do basic, renovations on the homes, such as new flooring, paint and repairs so that they are “move-in ready”. The home recipients will be responsible for basic home repairs that may arise while in the home. Once in the home, the rent is free for several years. After that, the recipient will eventually take full ownership of the property. Applicants must meet with a financial planner to insure ability to sustain the home.

Workforce Development Program

Believe in Success is a trauma-informed workforce development program for survivors of domestic violence. Believe in Success focuses on “success skills” such as professionalism, communication skills, teamwork/collaboration, problem solving, and self-advocacy. Partner organizations will provide additional life skills training opportunities in parenting, financial literacy, and other areas.
