Position Overview
Carl P. Sherr & Co., LLC is seeking an eager and motivated individual to join our team as a Financial Planning Associate. This is an integral role within our planning team, working closely with advisors, clients, and prospects to support the development and implementation of personalized financial strategies.
Our clients range from young professionals building their financial foundation to individuals approaching or living in retirement. The position ofers meaningful client interaction and a clear pathway for continued professional growth within a collaborative advisory environment.
Responsibilities
Client Relationship Support
- Attend and contribute to client meetings
- Assist planners and principals in relationship management
- Manage ongoing client communication
- Help coordinate planning follow-up and implementation steps
- Lead selected new client relationships from incoming referrals, as appropriate
Financial Planning Preparation & Analysis
- Prepare and update financial plans using firm planning tools
- Model planning scenarios (retirement projections, Roth conversions, tax-aware strategies, and cash-flow planning)
- Research financial planning opportunities and recommendations for clients
- Support implementation of planning strategies
Meeting Coordination & Workflow Management
- Coordinate meeting preparation and post-meeting follow-up with administrative and operations support
- Track next steps and ensure planning action items move forward
- Maintain accurate documentation within CRM systems
Investment & Planning Operations Support
- Assist with account implementation and service requests
- Support portfolio summaries and planning-related investment analysis
- Coordinate with custodians and internal team members as needed
- Contribute to internal planning process improvements over time

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- CFP® Professional or 3+ years of experience in the financial services industry
- Strong written, verbal, and technical skills
- Tax planning experience or interest is a plus
- Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and detail oriented
- Positive attitude and strong ethical standards
- Commitment to lifelong learning
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
